Without the collaboration of elected community leaders and policymakers, change could not happen.
We would like to take some time to express our gratitude to Ben Macpherson MSP and his team for the invaluable help they have given to our cause. Their support has been instrumental to the early success of our campaign. To us, his investment in our cause expresses true commitment to eradicating gender-based violence, protecting women’s rights, and cementing a strong parliamentary value of gender equality. Sarah Masson, Communications and Parliamentary Officer to Ben Macpherson has done a truly remarkable job of supporting the organising committee of 16 Days of activism against its gender-based violence (Edinburgh Chapter). She has been an indispensable asset to the organisation of #16DaysEdin, without her dedication and the support of Ben’s team, we would not be where we are today.

Since his election in 2016, Ben Macpherson has shown a pro-active attitude towards delivering strong local representation. He has engaged in a wide variety of community events and partnered with local groups to better understand the needs and wishes of his constituency. Ben’s passion for positive change is warmly welcomed by organisations such us ours. He is a member of key parliamentary committees such as the Justice Committee and the Justice sub-committee on policing. He is also part of the Cross-Party group on Culture and LGBTI+.

You can contact him and his team, or learn more about his campaign, on his website, or on Facebook and Twitter.
